A Virginia woman was injured in a crash in Pikeville recently. According to Pikeville Police Public Information Officer Tony Conn, on Nov. 11, the Pikeville Police Department and Pikeville Fire Department were dispatched at approximately 7:30 a.m. to the intersection of U.S. 23 and Ky. 3496 to a report of a multiple-vehicle crash. The preliminary investigation, Conn said, indicates that a Dodge Journey driven by Laneicea Mullins, of Clintwood, Virginia, was turning from U.S. 23 northbound onto Ky. 3496 at a signal light when it traveled into the path of a tractor-trailer coal truck. A third vehicle, Conn said, was also impacted during the crash. Neither the driver of the coal truck nor the driver of the other vehicle were injured. Mullins was transported by Pikeville EMS to Pikeville Medical Center to receive treatment.
