City of Coal Run recognizes police

During the Aug. 13 meeting of the Coal Run City Commission, members of the Coal Run Police Department were recognized for their service and dedication in protecting the residents and businesses. City Commissioner Mike Steele presented plaques and challenge coins to Chief Anthony Maggard, newly hired Officer Ashley Cook and Assistant Chief David Gooslin. The city also approved the purchase of a Dodge Ram pickup truck for the police department. The police packaged vehicle will cost $41,499. The commission had already authorized the repainting of the ‘Blue Stripe’ on streets within the city in recognition of law enforcement.
