East Kentucky Dream Center held their 4th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 18. Dream Center Director Rachel Dotson said the organization planned to to serve 1,500 meals to anyone who wanted a hot meal. “In 2021 the Dream Center served 1,100 meals,” she said. “The turkeys were donated by Burning Barrels, powered by Pace O’ Matic.” Campbell said the dinner is intended to compliment other efforts in the community. “We by no means want to compete with other free Thanksgiving offerings; we actually partner and help each other,” she said. “Hunger is a huge issue right now in Eastern Kentucky. We want to make hunger one less thing for families to worry about during the holidays.”
