Hillbilly Days 2012 is history

Posted: Wednesday, April 25, 2012 5:00 am

Brad Hall, chairman of the Hillbilly Days Committee responsible for putting the festival together, said there were no exact figures but that the economic benefit to the community would be in the “hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

One of the primary purposes of the festival is to raise money for the Shriners Childrens’ Hospital in Lexington. While no figures are yet available from this year’s festival, the hospital received $72,000 from last year’s festival in proceeds from vendor fees alone. The Shriners raised money from severl fundraising sources this year, with all those funds going to the childrens’ hospital.
