Lady Panthers finish 3-1 at All ‘A’ Classic

Pikeville made it to day two of the All “A” Classic state tournament this weekend, but was eliminated from the tournament with an 11-0 loss to Raceland.

The Lady Panthers opened the All “A” Classic with three wins on the first day.

Pikeville knocked off Carlisle County 15-0 in three innings in their first game. Pikeville followed with a 6-2 win over St. Henry and an 11-0 win over Washington County.

After defeating Pikeville in the quarterfinals, Raceland knocked off Hancock County 16-0 in the semifinals before falling to Louisville Holy Cross 15-5 in the championship game.

Pikeville finished as All “A” Classic runners-up last season.

The Lady Panthers made it back to the championship round, but couldn’t advance out of the quarterfinals this season.

Pikeville finished the All “A” Classic 3-1 and improved its record to 18-9 on the season.

The Lady Panthers are scheduled to host Magoffin County at 6:00 p.m. next Monday evening.
