Knox Easton Rife, infant son of Kimberly Dawn Slone and David Jordan “Bubba” Rife, was born and passed away, Monday, June 24, 2019.

Funeral services were held at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Jones & West Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Layne officiating. Burial followed at the Knox Easton Rife Memorial Cemetery, Stopover. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps.

Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith, 27, of Chloe Road, died Monday, June 24, 2019, at Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born in Pike County, March 16, 1992, the son of Tammy Smith Andrews, of Varney, and the late William Anthony Bevins, and the stepson of Donald Andrews, of Varney.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he is survived by one daughter, Alyssa Kay Smith, of Pikeville; two brothers, Anthony Bevins, of Fedscreek, and Cory Austin Andrews; one sister, Kelly Palinkas, of Fedscreek; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Heenon Church of Christ with Marshall Stanley officiating. Burial followed at the Justice Cemetery, Chloe Road. Arrangements were under the direction of the Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.

Mary Smith

Mary Lou Smith, 86, of Millers Creek, died Monday, June 24, 2019, at Pikeville Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born in Perry County, Dec. 16, 1932, the daughter of the late David Ralph and Dale Kelly Beavan.

She was a homemaker and member of the Christian Life Fellowship Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Larry Beavan, Jean Glott and Glauda Sue Shackelford.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Randolph B. Smith, of Pikeville; five daughters, Sharon Rusnak (Stefan) and Suzanne Elliott (Joseph), both of Florida, Nancy Anne Smith and Linda Brown (Chris), both of Pikeville, and Lisa May, of Raccoon; one son, David Ray Smith, of Hindman; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Beavan, of Florida, and Robert Beavan, of Hazard.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Adkins officiating. Burial followed at the Smith Valley Cemetery, Millers Creek. Arrangements were under the direction of the Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.
