Kennith Lee Ball, 77, of Turkey Creek, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at his residence.

He was born at Ball Fork, Dec. 18, 1942, the son of the late Roy Ball and Mae Reynolds Ball.

He was a retired truck driver for Persinger Supply and a veteran of the United States Army. He loved to go camping in Tennessee. He was a great dad, papaw and husband.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne Bevins Ball; and his sister, Alberta Hatfield.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hayton Ball; his son, Mike Ball (Dianna), of Robinson Creek; his daughter, Tamara Ball, of Turkey Creek; his step-son, Anthony Collins, of Gilmer County, W.Va.; his siblings, Billy Ball (Vada), of Indiana, Janice Robinette, of Williamson, W.Va., Phyllis Sullivan, of Ransom, and Jackie Hensel; his grandchildren, Hope Collins, Peyton Yates and Nicole Branham (Conor); his step-grandchildren, Natasha Blair and Randy Newsome; and a host of loving family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Robinette officiating. Burial will follow at the  Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will continue from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m, Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home with special services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.

Naomi Ruth Bartley, 84, of Fords Branch Street, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at her residence.

She was born in Pike County, Dec. 1, 1935, the daughter of the late Elder Grady and Minty Brown Adkins.

She worked in the deli at Food City for 26 years and was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Bo Bartley; eight brothers, Lenford, Charlie, Barrett, Grover, Frank, Hiram, Warren G. and Reaford Adkins; and seven sisters, Margaret Katherine Adkins, Ruby Hall, Ona Mae Bartley, Fayetta May, Madge Mullins, Ella Harris and Minnie Vee Raines.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamelene K. Mullins and Margaret Ann Minix (Gary); three grandchildren, Gregory Shawn Mullins, Brandon Chadwick Mullins (Michelle) and Corey Austin Mullins (Kaitlyn); one great-grandchild, Ariel Alexis Mullins; and a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow at the Fords Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home with services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Billy Joe “Bill” Deel, 80, of Dana, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, at the University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington.

He was born at Harman, Va., Oct. 14, 1939, the son of the late Benton and Faye Davis Deel.

He retired as a coal preparation plant superintendent and was a member of Calvary Southern Baptist Church, Betsy Layne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Denise Kruschwitz; his brother, Elbert Harold Deel; and his sister, Merle Dean Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Ellen “Judy” King Deel; three daughters, Lisa McKiernan (John), of Greenville, S.Car., Dana Jo Lykins and Donna Rae Arnold ( Mat), both of Lexington; one son, Michael Dwayne Deel (Sandy), of Louisville; six grandchildren, Madeline McKiernan, Patrick McKiernan, Samuel Jacob Deel, Lauren Alexandria Deel, Connor Arnold and Emma Lykins; one brother, Russell Wayne Deel, of Grundy, Va.; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020, at the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Sam Crawford and Tim McClanahan officiating. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Shelbiana, with Patrick McKiernan, Samuel Jacob Deel, Rusty Deel, Connor Arnold, Mat Arnold and John McKiernan serving as pallbearers.  Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Argentina Kidd Iricks, 77, of Pikeville, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born at Pikeville, Aug. 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Evan and Anne Yates Kidd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Iricks; her step-mother, Rebecca Akers Kidd; four brothers, Everett Kidd, Earnie Kidd, Stanley Kidd and Allard Kidd; and three sisters, Margie Kidd, Vertrecy Keene and Alphie Kidd.

She is survived by two sons, Darren Iricks (Amy), of Pikeville, and Randy Iricks (Monica), of Harold; one daughter, Marietta Hamilton (Rocky), of Pikeville; four brothers, Danny Kidd, Jerry Kidd and Roger Kidd, all of Pikeville, and Donald Kidd, of Allen; one sister, Trula Kidd, of Pikeville; five grandchildren, Crystal Burchett, Joshua Iricks, Isiah Iricks, Noah Iricks and Aubrey Iricks; five great-grandchildren, Tarryn Burchett, Brayden Burchett, Piper Burchett, Drayton Iricks and McKenna Iricks; and a host of other dear family and friends.

She was born at Millers Creek, June 10, 1942, the daughter of the late Virgil and Ethel Ratliff Keene.

She was a teller at Pikeville National Bank/Community Trust Bank and a member of the Meta Baptist Church for 45 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Mitchell Slone.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny M. Slone; one daughter, Michelle Stewart (Scott), of Lexington; two brothers, Olen Keene, of Griffith, Ind., and Charles Richard Keene, of Pikeville; two sisters, Geneva Lee, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Gladys Keen, of Pikeville; one grandchild, Mallie Grace Stewart; and her caretaker, Renee Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020, at the J.W. Call Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Staggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Maynard-McCoy Cemetery, Burning Fork Road.
