Claudine Coleman, 74, of Kendrick Fork, Pikeville, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at her residence.

She was born in Pike County, March 21, 1945, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Della Thornsbury.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Primitive Baptist church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Coleman.

She is survived by one daughter, Tina Collins (Jimmy); two sons, Larry Coleman Jr. and Steve Williamson; three sisters, Gearldine Justice (Perry Jr.), Paula Hampton and Christine Worrix (Auggie); four grandchildren, Brittany Adkins, Brooke Collins (Sammy Fronto Jr.), Isiah Coleman and Ronnie K. Williamson; two great-grandchildren, Grace Mullins and Kyla Fronto; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Memorial services were held from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements were under the direction of the Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Raymond Garnett, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, in Bedford, Indiana.

“Hawk” Smith Jr.

Floyd Everett “Hawk” Smith Jr., 65, of Phelps, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center at Phelps.

He was born at Williamson, W.Va., Sept. 10, 1954, the son of the late Floyd and Geraldine Stump Smith.

He was known for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with those closest to him. He was a loving father and grandfather who spent the majority of his time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Adam Smith; and two sisters, Vivian Smith and Kathy Casey.

He is survived by two sons, Everett Allen Smith (Tyra) and Jordan Smith (Kayla), both of Hardy; three brothers, James Smith (Huletha) and Ricky Smith, both of Phelps, and T.A. Smith (Rhonda), of North Carolina; three sisters, Georgia Smith (Dallas), of Phelps, Margaret Smith, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Marcella Yates (Dwayne), of Sidney; four grandchildren, Hunter Dean Williamson, Ethan Kyler Smith, Chloe Marie Smith and Landon Jeffery Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and others whom he loved dearly.

His passing will be mourned by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at the Jones & West Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Casey officiating. Burial followed in the Smith Family Cemetery, Smith Fork, Phelps. Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones & West Funeral Home of Phelps.
