Nell Mullins Bailey, 85, of Haysi, Va., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at the Emmanuel Old Regular Baptist Church, Haysi, Virginia. Burial followed at the Bailey Family Cemetery, Haysi, Virginia. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Inc., of Elkhorn City.

David Baldridge

David Wayne Baldridge, 43, of Hellier, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, at the Robinson Family Cemetery, Allegheny. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Inc., of Elkhorn City.

Barbara Bartley

Barbara Sue Bartley, 71, of Sevierville, Tenn., formerly of Elkhorn City, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at LeConte Medical Center, Sevierville, after a short illness. 

She was born on Sept. 11, 1946, the daughter of the late Ona and J.B. Looney. 

She was a faithful member of the Muddy Creek Freewill Baptist Church and loved singing at church with her brothers and sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Ray Bartley; one sister, Marie Taylor; and four brothers, Howard Murphy, Van Ratliff, Billy Gene Looney and Eulean Looney.

She is survived by one son, Henry Anderson; two granddaughters, Melissa Thompson and Miranda Cure, both of Lick Creek; three grandsons, Keghan Thompson, Dalton Cure and Hunter Cure; five sisters, Betty Thacker, of Columbus, Ga., and Lucille Coleman, Adrienne Swiney, Jewelene Adams and Shelma Adkins, all of Elkhorn City; two brothers, James Looney, of Ashcamp, and Ron Keith Looney, of Raccoon.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at the Muddy Creek Freewill Baptist Church, 2386 Hills Chapel Road, Dandridge, TN 37725. Graveside services will follow at the Hills Union Cemetery, with Rev. Jess Sherrod, Rev. Donnie Coleman and Jimmy Kerr officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Atchley Funeral Home of Sevierville, Tennessee.

Donald Hall

Born: June 26, 1940

Died:  Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Ray Hall announces his passing from this earthly home and into heaven.  

Don served his country with pride in the United States Army for 10 years, where he was an engineer and equipment repairman. After the military, Don took great pride in his career as an over-the-road truck driver and a member of the teamster union.   Donald was 78 years old at the time of his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Astor and Opal Hall; and his grandparents, Silas and Rilla Hall and Luke and Dolly Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Hall; his loving sister, Patricia Johnson (Charles); three children; his son, Jeffrey Hall (Lisa)and their children and Don’s grandchildren, Ashley Hall, Alicia Hall, Nick Hall and Addison Hall;  His son, Kevin Hall (Alecia) and their children and Don’s grandchildren, Ava Burns and Addie Burns; and his daughter, Lisa Hall and Don’s granddogs, Ignatius “Iggy” and Gianna “Gigi”; his loving niece, Kim Nadeau (Ty) and their children, Bristyn and Lars Nadeau; and his loving cousins, Terry and Gayle Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, at the Hall and Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Johnson Memorial Park, Pikeville. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 3, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Sherri Annette Lawson, 54, of Rockhouse, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at Pikeville Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at the Unity Freewill Baptist Church, with Christian Fellowship Church ministers officiating all services. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Chloe Road, Shelbiana.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, and continue Sunday, Sept. 2, at the church with services beginning at 7 p.m. each night. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Argene Miracle, 77, of Carleton, Mich., died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, in Michigan.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church, with Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating. Burial will follow at the Reed Cemetery, Turkey Creek.

Visitation will continue on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the church, with services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry.

James R. Reynolds, 82, of Beecher City, Ill., formerly of Pike County, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at his residence.

Robinson

Billy Ray Robinson, 75, of Pikeville, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at his residence.

He was born at Rockhouse, Aug. 13, 1943, the son of the late Guy and Edna Mullins Robinson.

He was a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ, served his country proudly in the United States Army and was devoted to his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rosalie Robinson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Coleman Robinson, of Pikeville; one son, Christopher Ray Robinson (Peggy Michele), of Bunnlevel, N.Car.; two adoring grandchildren, Cameron Robinson and Abagail “Abby” Robinson; three sisters, Wilma Tucker and Mae Coleman, both of Richmond, and Brenda Coleman (Danny), of Louisville; four brothers, Jackie Robinson (Gloria) and  Kennith Robinson (Mary), both of Rockhouse, Joe Robinson (Becky), of Richlands, Va., and Kermit Robinson, of  Michigan; and a host of other dear family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at  the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, with D.A.V. honors observed.

Visitation will continue on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the funeral home, with services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.
