Jane Hopkins, 65, of Greasy Creek, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at her residence.

She was born in Detroit, Mich., Dec. 14, 1953, to the late Lloyd and Ruby Rowe Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four children, Donna Ray Hopkins, Tammy Jane Hopkins, Tonya Carol Hopkins and John Calvin Hopkins; three sisters, Elva Angello, Carol Ratliff and Anita Gwen Brown; and one brother, Barry Brown.

She is survived by her husband, LeeRay Hopkins; two sons, Joseph K. Hopkins and David Lee Hopkins, both of Greasy Creek; two brothers, Gary Wayne Brown, of Wallake, Mich., and Lloyd Brown Jr., of Frazier, Mich.; one sister, Rita Hubczeb, of Detroit, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at the Greasy Creek Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvin Hopkins Cemetery, Greasy Creek.

Visitation will continue on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the church with services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Leah Dane McPeek, 59, of Hellier, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at her residence.

She was born at Pikeville, Dec. 9, 1959, the daughter of the late Allen and Erma Francisco Adkins.

She was a cashier at Lowe’s.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Ray Adkins.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Wayne McPeek, of Hellier; one son, Michael Jason McPeek, of Hellier; one daughter, Brandy Louanne McPeek, of Hellier; four sisters, Sue Rowe and Janet Lou Mullins, both of Belcher, Kay Thacker, of Michigan, and Jean Williams, of Hellier; two brothers, Ernie Adkins, of Belcher, and Dickie Adkins, of Elkhorn City; two grandchildren, Colin Brady McPeek and Benjamin Michael McPeek; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at the Robinson Cemetery, Hellier, with Oscar Damron officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Inc., of Elkhorn City.

Evelyn June Osborne, 88, of Hazel Park, Mich., died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan.

She was born in Williamsburg, W.Va., Jan. 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Henry and Fannie Burchett.

She was a homemaker and of the Old Regular Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Eugene Osborne; and one granddaughter, LaChelle McCutcheon.

She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn J. Coley (the late Danny); four sons, James Elmer Osborne (Kathleen), Justin Keith Osborne (Sue), Ronald L. Osborne and Raymond Henry Osborne (Phyllis); 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at the Old Union Old Regular Baptist Church with Barry Lucas, Carson Wright, Ben Little, Jeff Little and others officiating. Burial will follow at the Osborne Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on  Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Gloria Dean Robinson, 64, of Elkhorn City, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at her residence.  She was born in Detroit, Mich., to the late Robert and Vera Coleman Lawson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Kermel Lawson, Michael Lawson and Shiela Bevins.

She is survived by her loving and devoted spouse, Jackie Robinson; two sons, Nick Robinson (Glenda) and Jason Robinson; two grandsons, Nicholas Robinson and Jaxon Robinson; and five siblings, Roger Lawson, Jackie Lawson, Tracy Lawson, Mickey Lawson and Joey Lawson; and a host of loving family and friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at the Samaria Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, Chloe Road. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Robert Alfred “Tanker” Scott, 61, of Prestonsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at his residence.

He was born in Pikeville, Aug. 8, 1958, the son of the late Virgil and Easter Adkins Scott.

He served his country proudly in the United States Army and was a member of the Betsy Layne DAV Chapter #169. He was employed in maintenance at Pikeville Medical Center and was a member of the Tom’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lacie Adkins.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Sue Harris Scott; three daughters, Nioka Lynn Kelley (Adam), of Reform, Ala., Lorna Cantrell, of Pikeville, and Sasha Tucker (John), of Kingsport, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Alexzander Tucker, Aeriaunna Tucker, Alivia Tucker, Adalea Tucker, Alistair Tucker, Xavier Cantrell, Sheridan Norman, Cheyanne Kelley and Elizabeth Kelley; one brother, George Potter, of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Nioka Hall (Anthony), of Goshen, Ohio, and Loretta Potter, of Mouthcard; and a host of other dear family and friends.

A graveside gathering will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, SE 1280 KY Highway 118, Hyden, with services beginning at 2 p.m., with Tim McCoy officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Call Funeral Home of Pikeville.
