Patricia Lynn Rose, 55, of Meathouse Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at her residence.

She was born in Pike County, April 11, 1964, the daughter of Langley Rose and Elsie Mae Bartley Rose.

She was a member of the Jubilee Church.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Selena Thacker.

She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Collins, of Kimper; two brothers, Ronald Dale Rose, of Sidney, and Jerry Bartley, of Marrowbone; one sister, Shelia Honaker, of Kimper; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019, at the Community Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Damron officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Community Funeral Home of Zebulon.

Ruth Fouts Stewart, 83, of Long Fork, Virgie, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2019, at Pikeville Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 3, 1935, to the late George and Barbara Stewart Fouts.

She was a member of the Grace Fellowship Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estil Warren Stewart; one son, Danny Wayne Stewart; two brothers, Billy Fouts and Isaac Fouts; and two sisters, Flora Bentley and Shelby Jean Johnson

She is survived by two sons, Michael Stewart (Christine), of Long Fork, and Larry Stewart (Crystal), of Caney; two grandchildren, Brittany Elswick (Jamie) and Brandon Elswick (Lindsay), both of Caney; four great-grandchildren, Grayson Campbell Elswick, Isla Marie Stewart, Hillary Elswick and Peyton Elswick; three brothers, Herbert Fouts and Hurshel Fouts, both of Long Fork, and Joe Fouts, of Robinson Creek; one sister, Evelene Tackett, of Long Fork; and Shayla Bailey, who called her Mamaw.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, at the Hall & Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Debby Bailey, Ron Tiller, Jay Shephard and others officiating. Special singing by the Caney Creek Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Annie E. Young Cemetery, East Shelbiana.

Visitation will continue on Thursday, Dec. 5, at the funeral home with services beginning at 7 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hall & Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Alfred Walker Jr.

Alfred Walker Jr., 64, of Jenkins, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at  Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born in Letcher County, March 7, 1955, the son of the late Alfred Roland Walker and Emma Jean Chavis Walker.

He was a superintendent for Zion Mining Coal Company and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. He served his country honorably in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kyle Edward Walker and Danny Dino Walker; and three sisters, Linda Walker, Donna Walker and Barbara Ratliff.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy S. Harris Walker; two sons, Alfred Brett Walker and Danny Scott Walker; one step-son, Mark Allen Walker; two brothers, Ronald Joe Walker and David Wayne Walker; two sisters, Marlene Seymore and Lisa Ann Walker; two grandchildren, Hannah Noel Walker and Kennedy Dion Walker; and a host of loving family and friends.

Memorial services will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at the Church of God of Prophecy, Burdine. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lucas & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville.
