Twas the nights before
All the teachers rebelled,
Like snowflakes on rooftops the pension bill fell
Governor, they shouted, with us don’t mess!
The Dems that now await your office
They actually robbed us, to that we confess!
Having just settled down for another four years,
All of a sudden there arose a pension clatter,
Dems sprang from their beds and said “what the hell’s the matter?”
When what to their wondering eyes should appear,
But a wounded Matt Bevin,
And right in time for an election year!
More rapid than eagles their bandwagon came,
Let’s win this election
Before they realize we’re the ones to blame!
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle,
And I heard them exclaim as they kicked a can down the road,
Happy Christmas to all, from our Frankfort abode!
Teachers need to be paid double what they currently receive. The ones who had me in school needed triple. And just like Donald Trump, our current governor is in the unenviable position of finding fixes for decades of good ol’ boys business as usual. As is the incoming Pike County Fiscal Court.
I’d be mad, too, if politicians were messing with my retirement. But Matt Bevin didn’t make this mess. If I was a school teacher, I’d be tracking down whoever the hell did.
Merry Christmas everyone.
