KSP: One dead in shooting in Pike Co. park

Emergency responders converged on a park near the flood wall in South Williamson Saturday evening after a shooting left one man dead.

Kentucky State Police and other emergency responders converged on a South Williamson park Saturday evening and found a man dead as the result of a shooting.

According to a statement from KSP, the agency responded to a shooting incident in a park area near the flood wall in South Williamson which occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers and detectives responded to the scene and found one person, whose name had not been released as of presstime, shot.

The person, the statement said, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing under the lead of Det. Jason Merlo.
