Kentucky State Police have released the name of a man they say was shot and killed Saturday night at a park in South Williamson, adding that charges are forthcoming in the case.

According to a statement from KSP, the agency responded to a shooting incident in a park area near the flood wall in South Williamson which occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday.

Troopers and detectives responded to the scene and found Adrian Smith, 44, of Cleveland, West Virginia, who had been shot. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

In the statement, issued Monday evening, KSP said the agency expects charges in the next few days as the case proceeds. Anyone with information is asked to call, (606) 433-7711.
