The fundamental purpose of AARP, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and Pike County Retired Teachers Association is based on a vision of service to others. As part of their annual service project, PCRTA members purchased school supplies this August to give to school children.  As retired educators, PCRTA knows that students are best ready to learn when they have the supplies they need.  Members purchased notebooks, pencils, and composition books for students at Belfry High School. The supplies were delivered in August by Mary Alice Hunt, PCRTA secretary/treasurer, to Pat May, Belfry’s youth advocate for the school’s Family Resource and Youth Service Center. This school was randomly drawn from Pike County and Pikeville Independent School districts.
