Hillbilly teeth being pulled Special To The News-Express Approximately 26,000 hillbilly teeth have been recalled, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The commission announced Thursday that FUNTASTIC, the teeth manufacturer, is voluntarily recalling the teeth because the gray surface paint on them contains excessive amounts of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard. The teeth being recalled were manufactured in China and sold in grocery, drug, convenience and mass retail outlets nationwide between March 2005 and March 2008. They were sold in a 2-pack with the item no. 2657. The teeth are yellow with brown gums. People who purchased this product should immediately take the toy away from children and contact FUNTASTIC for information on obtaining a refund. To contact the manufacturer, call (800) 434-5207 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or visit the company’s Web site, www.funtastictoy.com.
