A Pikeville woman has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor after allegedly asking her unlicensed child to drive to pick her up from a local bar.

According to court documents, April Custer, 35, was at the bar at the Landmark Inn at about 1 a.m. last Saturday while her minor sons were at her home unsupervised.

The citation in the case said Custer called the older of her two sons, who does not have a driver’s license, and asked him to pick her up at the bar.

The minor, the citation said, was stopped by the Pikeville Police Department after spinning the tires of the vehicle he was driving and told the officer his younger brother was at home alone and his mother was at the bar intoxicated.
