Pauley Bridge open to public

News-Express photo by Mary Music

Kentucky Power line technicians Robby Warrix and Steve Ray removed vines from the entrance of Pauley Bridge yesterday afternoon. The company provided the service because the vines were growing close to electrical lines. City officials discussed the removal of the vines during their last city commission meeting, saying that the vines needed to be removed so that the stones on the historic bridge can be cleaned with pressure washers. Other work still needed to be completed at Pauley Bridge includes placing a commemorative plaque, clearing a tree and patching pavement at the bridge's opposite entrance. Structural work is complete, and the bridge is open for pedestrians.
